I write for the gals trying to bless and encourage their people through food
It all started in my grandma’s kitchen, where I learned that desserts could do more than satisfy a sweet tooth—they could make someone feel truly seen and loved.

About Katie
Katie Lee Wilken is a baking content creator and recipe developer who shares doable dessert recipes with over 216,000 Instagram followers.
She’s known for easy-to-follow dessert recipes made with everyday ingredients and tools you likely already have on hand. Katie encourages busy gals to celebrate the people in their lives through doable dessert recipes. As a Christian, she sees each person as created by God and worth celebrating. Her mission is to spark celebration and connection through baking and believes you don’t need a lot of time or money to make meaningful moments—and that a simple dessert can be a powerful way to love others well.
Katie grew up on her family’s ranch in rural South Dakota—the furthest point in the country from a McDonald’s—where she often ran next door to bake with her grandma. As a little girl, she would drag a stack of cookbooks to bed with her and read them as she was falling asleep.
Her love of baking led to a wedding-cupcake business, a spot as a contestant on the Magnolia Silos Baking Competition, and, eventually, the launch of her Instagram account—where her simple, celebratory approach to dessert found a growing community.
Katie’s debut cookbook, Delicious and Doable Desserts, will be released by Harvest House in March 2026, with her follow-up coming in Fall 2027.
Katie is a high school math teacher and dorm counselor during the school year, works on her family’s ranch during the summer, and creates dessert content all year round.
